Body camera footage from the August 23 arrest of San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York in East Palestine, Ohio, has surfaced, detailing several embarrassing moments from the incident. York, 45, was arrested on prostitution charges at a trailer park.
The video captured York's interaction with law enforcement officers as he was taken into custody. One of the notable details from the footage is York's alleged misrepresentation of his profession. When questioned by officers, York reportedly claimed to be "a real estate guy," omitting his ownership of the NFL team.
During the arrest, officers discovered a significant amount of cash in York's rented Volkswagen SUV, all in $20 bills. One officer remarked on the substantial sum, stating, "He's got a s--- ton of cash." Another officer expressed surprise, noting the irony of someone with apparent financial means engaging in such activity.
The video also shows York's bewildered reaction as he was removed from his vehicle. He appeared stunned and questioned the officers, "Can I ask what you're doing?"
York's attire during the arrest also drew attention. He was seen wearing a New York Yankees T-shirt, basketball shorts, and running shoes. The choice of clothing, particularly the Yankees shirt, was highlighted as potentially alienating for fans of the San Francisco Giants, a Bay Area baseball team.
Perhaps one of the most personally notable aspects of the video is that York was still wearing his wedding ring. He had filed for divorce from his wife, Danielle Belluomini, in May, citing "irreconcilable differences." The couple was married in June 2011. The black band on his left ring finger was visible throughout the arrest footage.
