San Diego Family of Three Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide
A neighbor's discovery of a young girl not attending school led to the grim finding of two adults and an 11-year-old daughter deceased inside their San Diego home.
San Diego police responded to a welfare check call on Wednesday morning, discovering two adults and their 11-year-old daughter dead inside a home on Boulder Lake Avenue in the Lake Murray neighborhood. The call came after a concerned neighbor noticed the child had not left for school.
The neighbor, who possessed a key to the residence for pet-sitting duties, entered the home and made the discovery. Responding officers were dispatched to the location shortly before 8:20 a.m.
Authorities have stated that the deaths are being investigated as a possible murder-suicide. A firearm was involved, according to police. The husband and wife were found dead in one bedroom, while their daughter was discovered in a separate room. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
Police confirmed they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the surrounding community. The incident is under investigation.
