Sam Wood Facing Financial Scrutiny Amid Domestic Violence Charges and Job Loss

Sam Wood, a former star of The Bachelor, is reportedly still contending with mortgages on two significant properties following his arrest on domestic violence and strangulation charges. The incidents occurred in Noosa over a weekend, leading to his arrest. Simultaneously, Wood has been terminated from his own wellness company, a development that has cast further attention on his financial situation.

Wood and his wife, Snezana, own two homes valued at a combined $9.7 million. Victorian Land Title records indicate that both their Brighton residence, purchased in September 2025 for $7 million, and their Mount Martha home, acquired in 2020 for $2.7 million, have outstanding mortgages with ANZ bank. The Brighton property features five bedrooms and three bathrooms, while the Mount Martha home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Wood's professional life has also been significantly impacted. He was initially stood down from his company, 28 by Sam Wood, on Monday and officially terminated by its owner, DBG Health, on Tuesday. A statement from DBG Health confirmed the termination of all commercial arrangements with Wood, citing that the company "does not tolerate domestic violence in any form." The company intends to rebrand as "28" under new leadership. Wood had previously sold his fitness business in 2022 but remained its public face.

The legal proceedings stem from an arrest on Saturday night at a Noosa property after police responded to reports of alleged domestic violence. Wood was charged on Sunday with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting. He did not appear in court on Monday when his matter was heard and adjourned. A bail application is scheduled for Thursday. Wood's lawyer has stated that his client will defend the charges and is primarily concerned about his family.

Several associated businesses and personalities have also distanced themselves from Wood. The pre-packaged meal company Foxes Den and trainer Tiffiny Hall have ended their affiliations. Similarly, MAFS veteran Jules Robinson has concluded her partnership with Wood. Former Home and Away star Tammin Sursok has placed her business relationship with Wood on 'pause.'

Queensland Police confirmed the charges are allegations and have not yet been tested in court. Resources for those affected by domestic violence are available, including 1800RESPECT and White Ribbon Australia.
