Sam Wood Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges; Wife Claims Fear of Death

Sam Wood, known for his role on "The Bachelor," was arrested on domestic violence charges at a luxury Noosa apartment, where his wife, Snezana, reportedly feared for her life during an alleged attack. Wood made a social media post about needing to recharge his "battery" shortly before his arrest.

During a bail hearing, prosecutors told Maroochydore Magistrates Court that Snezana Wood believed her husband was going to kill her. Police presented photographs of alleged injuries and detailed that Snezana supported the criminal charges against him. The court also heard of a similar, earlier incident in Victoria where police were called but no complaint was made.

Wood's stepdaughter, Eve, 21, reportedly made the Triple Zero call, stating that the victim had been choked. Prosecutors indicated that Snezana Wood had provided a recorded statement to police, describing being choked, having her head banged on the floor, and struggling to breathe. She alleged the incident only ceased when one of the children called out.

Wood was denied bail and remains in custody. His solicitor, Mathew Cuskelly, stated that his client denies strangling or assaulting his wife, and indicated a potential defense of self-defense if the case proceeds to trial.

Prior to the arrest, Wood had posted on a private Facebook page for his "28 By Sam Wood Member Community," describing a relaxing holiday with his family. He wrote about enjoying the beach, sun, pool, fishing, and board games, and noted how much he needed the break. He concluded the post by saying he was "back, baby, and can't wait to see you all more than ever before from Monday" and that followers would "be sick of seeing so much of me."
