Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac caused concern on Monday morning when he did not arrive for his scheduled work duties following a late night at the Logie Awards. The Channel Seven personality had reportedly assured colleagues he would be ready for his morning broadcast after attending the Australian television industry's night of nights.

During the show, a co-star explained Mac's absence, noting, "It's the morning after the Logies, obviously. It's always a late night. We can't find Sam Mac. Do you know the irony? He must be a bit under the weather. We literally can't find him this morning."

One presenter mentioned they had left the Logies celebrations around 11:30 p.m., with Mac confidently stating, "I'll see you tomorrow. I'm working tomorrow." Another colleague humorously responded, "Not working."

Further complicating the situation, Mac had reportedly been booked into his hotel under a colleague's name. Reporter Georgia Costi was called upon to step in and present the weather segment in his stead. "Georgia, you've had to stand in. What, get yourself all dressed, find yourself a blue suit, because we couldn't find Sam Mac," a host commented. Costi explained she had been relaxing in her hotel after covering the Logies red carpet when she received an urgent call asking for her whereabouts.

The mystery of Mac's disappearance was resolved when he appeared on camera, seemingly assisting workers as they dismantled the Logies red carpet. When questioned by his colleagues, Mac joked that he was helping the crew pack up the event, stating, "People in TV are not happy to get their hands dirty. I am."

When asked about the lack of a high-visibility vest, Mac adopted a humorous persona, saying he was acting in a managerial capacity. "I'm kind of more of an Undercover Boss kind of energy. I'm directing him on what to do, manual-wise," he quipped. He then attempted to conclude the segment, telling the studio hosts, "If we've done the weather, we've done the weather. Thank you, guys in the studio."
