Sam Asghari acknowledges that he will likely always be recognized as "Mr. Britney Spears" but has accepted this public perception as he builds his own acting career. In a recent interview, Asghari, who was married to Spears for nearly two years until their 2024 divorce, stated he is prepared to answer questions about his ex-wife, noting, "Never going to happen. But am I fully ready to answer those questions and am I fully ready for it not to affect me? Absolutely."

Asghari is currently promoting his role in the upcoming film "The Gentleman Thief," starring alongside John Travolta. He plays Victor, a character described as the "baddest guy" and the "muscle of the operation" in a team of thieves. This film marks a significant moment for Asghari, who as a child in Tehran, used Travolta's movies to learn English.

"I never imagined that one day I’d be sharing the screen with him," Asghari said, reflecting on his journey from Iran to Hollywood. He added that working with established actors like Travolta has reinforced his belief that successful individuals are often the hardest working and most humble.

Beyond his acting career, Asghari also discussed his connection to his homeland, Iran. He expressed distress over the ongoing conflicts there, stating, "The conflicts tearing his homeland apart for the past few months ‘haven’t made me feel good at all.’" He views his success in America as a testament to potential, saying, "The concrete was the country I came from — and the rose is me growing in unknown circumstances."

Asghari also has a short film, "The Good American," set for release on the festival circuit this fall. The film, which he describes as a Hollywood production showing the immigrant experience, centers on an Iranian refugee and ride-share driver in Los Angeles. Asghari believes that as an artist, it is a responsibility to connect emotionally and support projects that hold personal meaning.

In his personal life, Asghari has been in a relationship with girlfriend Brooke Irvine for nearly two years. They reside together in Los Angeles. While focused on his career, Asghari expressed a desire for a family in the future, emphasizing the lessons learned about balancing personal and professional life.

"I’m focused on my career now, but what I’ve learned is if I’m going to create a future in Hollywood, I’m going to have to put myself at risk and not my family and the people that are next to me… But, yeah, at some point, who doesn’t want to have a family? I mean, everybody wants to have a family," he stated.

Asghari also clarified that he does not discuss his personal life or the specifics of his past relationship with Spears, stating, "I’ve been really focused on what has been happening in my country. All my focus has gone towards that and the projects I’ve been doing. I don’t like to really look at entertainment news and I don’t like to believe what I see anyway."
