Saleh Expresses Confidence in Ward Amid Titans' Struggles
Head coach Robert Saleh stated that quarterback Cam Ward is in a 'good headspace' despite the Tennessee Titans' 0-5 start and the league's lowest-scoring offense.
Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh has asserted that second-year quarterback Cam Ward is in a "good headspace" despite the team's dismal 0-5 record to begin the season and its status as the NFL's lowest-scoring offense. The Titans' struggles extend to divisional play, as they have not defeated an AFC South opponent since November 2024.
During a Wednesday press conference, Saleh addressed questions about how Ward could cope with pressures and sacks, responding, "Really cool conversation with Cam this week. He's in a good headspace, and he's got a lot of confidence in the o-line." The team is coming off a 26-3 home loss to the previously winless Houston Texans, who recorded four sacks against Ward.
Ward's overall record as a starting quarterback stands at 3-19, including an 0-7 mark against AFC South opponents. The Titans are preparing to face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Since parting ways with head coach Mike Vrabel in January 2024, the Titans have compiled a 6-33 record. During this period, the franchise has seen two general managers and two head coaches. Saleh's tenure with the Titans began with an 0-5 record, bringing his overall NFL head coaching record to 20-41, which includes his time with the New York Jets.
