New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner drew the attention of former WWE commentator Pat McAfee after employing wrestling maneuvers during a joint training camp practice with the Dallas Cowboys.

McAfee, who previously worked for WWE, stated on his show that Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, should immediately join WWE's NXT program. Rechsteiner was observed using professional wrestling moves, including a German suplex, against opponents during a significant on-field altercation.

Rechsteiner's actions during the practice have been highlighted as indicative of his wrestling background. His cousin, Bron Breakker, is a rising star in WWE, and Rechsteiner and his brother, Brandon, previously signed NIL deals with WWE. Brandon Rechsteiner played basketball for Colorado State and is transferring to Kansas State.

Rechsteiner, a former wide receiver for Jacksonville State, had a college career from 2023 to 2025, recording 53 catches for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. He initially signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent before joining the Saints.

Separately, Rechsteiner was suspended for the first six games of the NFL season for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

John Bradshaw Layfield, a WWE Hall of Famer, commented on the depth of talent within professional wrestling in a separate interview, noting the skilled athletes across the sport.
