Sailors Report 'Hypersonic' UFOs Vanishing and Reappearing Over Atlantic
A crew reported a perplexing encounter with glowing orbs exhibiting impossible speed and movement patterns, with no radar detection.
A ship's crew reported witnessing multiple glowing UFOs exhibiting 'hypersonic' speeds and erratic movements during an Atlantic crossing earlier this month. The unidentified objects, described as orbs, appeared and disappeared without any radar detection, according to a submission to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).
The encounter, detailed in a report dated October 11, occurred approximately 400 miles south of Nova Scotia. For about 40 minutes, two sailors observed a single orb through binoculars. They described it as rising and falling rapidly, changing direction, and periodically shooting at 'hypersonic speeds' for periods of five to ten minutes. Subsequently, three or four more orbs of similar appearance emerged.
"All twisting and turning, rising and falling together in no set pattern," the report states. "Every so often they went somewhere else altogether, at a speed I can only call unreasonable, and then were simply there again."
The sighting began around 3:25 a.m. under clear skies with a thin crescent moon, offering excellent visibility. The vessel was traveling east at approximately 20 mph, with no other traffic nearby. Despite the crew's visual observations, radar screens reportedly showed no targets, according to screenshots included with the NUFORC report.
In a separate report from last year, a video submitted to NUFORC appeared to capture a large, brightly lit hexagonal craft flying over Twentynine Palms, California. The witness reported the object moving slowly and irregularly, pulsating and giving off a bright light from its edges for about 15 minutes. The craft reportedly began to change shape, morphing from hexagonal to circular. NUFORC officials noted a SpaceX rocket launch had occurred that day, although it had launched from Florida several hours earlier. Experts have previously attributed similar phenomena to illuminated frozen fuel expelled from rocket launches, which reflects sunlight in the upper atmosphere.
