Sai De Silva, a cast member of "The Real Housewives of New York City," has revealed the specific incident that marked the breaking point in her marriage to David Craig. On a recent episode of the Bravo show, filmed before Craig filed for divorce in April, De Silva recounted how her husband charged her birthday dinner to her credit card.

De Silva described an evening where she believed their relationship was improving. "He takes me to a very expensive restaurant, and we had a beautiful time," she told her aunt, Sufia. "We came home. We had amazing sex. Everything was great. I was like, ‘Okay, all right, I feel this.'"

However, upon reviewing their bills, De Silva discovered the extravagant meal was charged to her account. "I said, ‘David! You made me pay for my own dinner? My own birthday dinner?'" she recalled. "And that’s when I knew… what’s left?"

Earlier in the conversation, De Silva suggested that Craig may have stayed in the marriage for the "illusion" of being her husband and maintaining their lifestyle, rather than out of genuine affection. "I think he liked the illusion of being my husband," she stated. "I think he liked the illusion of being a family unit, and I think he likes the lifestyle."

She admitted that she desired a divorce, but Craig's reaction when she initially broached the subject was described as "aggressive," leading them to agree to separate instead. De Silva also noted that the presence of their two children, daughter London, 14, and son Rio, 8, had prolonged the marriage, suggesting that without them, it would have ended much sooner.

During an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" with Andy Cohen, De Silva confirmed that the divorce proceedings are ongoing. She identified Craig's decision to file for divorce "without letting me know" as the definitive moment when there was "no going back."

De Silva also shared that co-parenting with Craig has been challenging. Craig filed for divorce on April 2, after nearly nine years of marriage. Three days later, De Silva posted on social media, thanking fans for their support and stating her focus was on her children.

De Silva and Craig met in Costa Rica in 2009 and married in June 2017. In a 2023 blog post for Bravo, De Silva had described Craig as "very involved when it comes to his family" and called him the "perfect guy," though she jokingly referred to him as a "terrible Instagram husband" due to his aversion to the public eye.
