Sabrina Washington, a member of the R&B group Mis-Teeq, has denied blindsiding her bandmates with the announcement of her solo tour and the group's subsequent perceived split. Washington made these assertions during a 'frosty' interview on ITV's Good Morning Britain with host Susanna Reid.

Mis-Teeq recently performed a reunion show at the OVO Arena Wembley, which sparked hopes for a more permanent comeback. However, Washington announced her intention to embark on a solo headline tour shortly thereafter. This news led to public statements from her bandmates, with Su-Elise expressing on Instagram that the group's split was "news to her." Alesha Dixon also shared a cryptic post alluding to private hurt.

During the GMB interview, Washington strongly refuted claims that she had issued a press release announcing Mis-Teeq's split. She insisted that there were no concrete plans for further group shows after the Wembley reunion, which she described as a one-off event for their 25th anniversary. "I have not said split in any way, shape or form- it's not come from me," Washington told Reid. She expressed love for her bandmates and stated she would never say no to future Mis-Teeq performances.

Washington suggested that Alesha Dixon was aware of her solo tour plans and had even offered congratulations. She noted that she had not yet spoken to Su-Elise, who was reportedly in Australia at the time. Washington characterized the situation as "scandalous" due to the lack of communication she claims has occurred.

However, a representative for Mis-Teeq provided a statement to the Daily Mail asserting that Washington and her team issued a press release announcing the split and her solo tour without consulting Dixon, Su-Elise, or any other member of the Mis-Teeq team. The representative stated that Alesha Dixon was unaware of the solo tour or the split announcement until it was reported by the media.

Su-Elise had previously posted on Instagram that the day of Washington's announcement was a deadline for Mis-Teeq to confirm plans for future shows, including headlining a major UK festival. She expressed surprise at finding out about the split via media reports, stating, "That's news to me..." Su-Elise also reportedly 'liked' comments from fans critical of Washington's actions.

Alesha Dixon, meanwhile, shared a post on Instagram that read, "She is Libra. Hurts privately. Heals privately. Figures it out privately. Then shows up like it never happened," which was interpreted by some as a subtle reference to her feelings about the situation.

The interview on Good Morning Britain was noted for its tense atmosphere, with viewers commenting on social media about Washington's demeanor. As the interview concluded, Washington was cut off by Reid as the program ended.
