Tennis player Aryna Sabalenka made a notable fashion statement at the US Open, appearing in a doubles match alongside Novak Djokovic wearing a sheer mesh Nike dress and an elaborate jewelry collection.
The ensemble featured a black sheer Nike dress layered over a bright orange sports bra and matching shorts. However, it was the accompanying "Silhouette Suite" by New York City-based jeweler Material Good that drew significant attention. The suite comprised a necklace, bracelet, and drop earrings, collectively adorned with more than 127 carats of colored gemstones. These stones included sapphires, tourmaline, garnet, zircon, spinel, chrysoberyl, and tanzanite in various cuts.
The "Silhouette Suite" draws inspiration from New York City's vibrant energy, incorporating gemstones sourced globally to reflect the city's multicultural identity. Material Good has previously collaborated with Sabalenka, who serves as the brand's first ambassador, on custom jewelry for major tournaments.
During the French Open in May, Sabalenka wore over 125 carats of garnets, chosen to complement the tournament's red clay courts. At Wimbledon in June, she sported an emerald suite inspired by the grass courts and her birthstone.
Sabalenka has expressed that jewelry is a form of self-expression for her, both on and off the court, and her partnership with Material Good allows her to explore her creativity through intentional and modern accessory choices.
