Ryan Thomas and Lucy Mecklenburgh List Cheshire Mansion for £1.25 Million
The couple stands to make an £85% profit on the property they purchased for £675,000 in 2021.
Ryan Thomas and Lucy Mecklenburgh have placed their Cheshire mansion on the market for £1.25 million, potentially yielding a profit of £575,000. The couple acquired the Edwardian property in Bramhall, near Stockport, for £675,000 in 2021 and have since undertaken extensive renovations.
If the asking price is met, the sale would represent an 85% increase in value over five years. The property deeds are solely in Ryan Thomas's name. This potential windfall marks a significant financial turnaround for the actor, who has previously been open about past financial difficulties, including bankruptcy in 2013 over an unpaid tax bill. More recently, his media company, R James Thomas Ltd, reported minimal assets and outstanding loan repayments.
Mecklenburgh, a former star of The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), has built a substantial fortune estimated at £3 million through her fitness ventures, fashion collaborations, and endorsements. Her entertainment company, Lucy Olivia Ltd, and fitness business, Results Wellness Lifestyle, reported significant assets in recent filings. She also owns an investment property valued at £360,000.
The couple, who met in 2017 while filming a celebrity version of The Island with Bear Grylls, purchased the Bramhall property in 2021. Following renovations, they relocated to the four-story home in 2023 with their two young children, Roman and Lilah. The property boasts a gym, a sound studio, and an open-plan kitchen.
Despite the home's luxurious features, Mecklenburgh recently shared on a podcast that she and Thomas sleep in separate bedrooms due to his disruptive sleep patterns, including snoring and sleep-talking.
The residence is being marketed by Mosley Jarman and is described as having been meticulously developed. The listing highlights features such as a wine chiller in the kitchen, a large garden, a tandem garage, and a newly created second floor. The property spans 3,100 square feet and is situated near Neville Road Primary school and Bramhall Park, with convenient access to Stockport and Manchester city centers.
Thomas, who gained fame as Jason Grimshaw in Coronation Street, has previously referred to his bankruptcy as a result of "pure carelessness" but views the experience as a learning opportunity.
Thomas also won Celebrity Big Brother in 2018 and has a teenage daughter from a previous relationship.
