Castleford Tigers head coach Ryan Carr has left the club for "personal reasons," the team announced.
The Australian, 38, was appointed head coach last August on a three-year contract, joining from a spell as assistant at NRL side St George Illawarra Dragons.
Carr won seven of his 21 Super League matches during his tenure. The Tigers currently sit ninth in the 14-team table.
The club confirmed that director of rugby Chris Chester, who has led the team for the past two matches, would be assisted by Jason Netherton and Luke Robinson for the remaining four games of the campaign.
Carr was stood down two weeks prior to the announcement, with Chester stating at the time that the club was "following a process."
Owner Martin Jepson expressed regret over Carr's departure. "We have had a difficult set of circumstances to deal with and unfortunately not been in a position to provide more information to the fans," Jepson said. "However, our actions have been, and always will be, in the best interests of the club."
The Tigers are scheduled to visit St Helens on Saturday, aiming to build on their recent win against Hull FC.
