At least 27 people were killed in Bucha, Ukraine, following a Russian strike overnight, according to Timur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. The attack also left 42 people injured, including four children, and damaged approximately 50 residential buildings.

Rescue and firefighting operations are underway in the Bucha district, located about 20 miles northwest of Kyiv. Emergency crews are working to extinguish fires, conduct search and rescue operations, and inspect damaged buildings. Tkachenko stated that the number of fatalities is not considered final.

Taras Didych, the head of the Dmytrivka community, was among those killed. Tkachenko noted that Didych was one of the first responders to the scene to assist victims.

Of the 42 individuals injured, seven have been hospitalized, with medical services present at the strike site. A total of 381 people, including 59 children, were evacuated from the affected area.

An operational headquarters has been established in Dmytrivka to provide assistance to local residents, including hot meals and psychological support. Temporary accommodation is available for those whose homes were damaged.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on X that a warehouse was struck, causing significant damage to surrounding infrastructure, including residential buildings and a care home for the elderly and disabled. Zelenskyy also indicated that 10 regions across the country were targeted overnight, with Kyiv experiencing near-constant attacks from jet-powered drones. He emphasized that Ukraine cannot address these strikes alone.
