A Russian missile strike on the village of Radushne in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region has resulted in the deaths of at least 10 family members, including eight children. The attack occurred while the family was asleep in their home.
Danylo Voronov, a soldier serving on the front lines, returned to find his home destroyed and most of his family dead. Among the victims were his mother, Olena, 41, her husband Artem, 47, three sons aged 17, 13, and 11, and four daughters aged 16, 14, nine, and seven. Also killed was the couple's 18-month-old grandson, Artem.
Surviving family members include Mr. Voronov's wife, Anna, his brother Matvii, 25, who was not present at the time of the attack, and his sister Inna, 24, who resides in Germany.
"It still feels like some kind of dream – like they exist somewhere, but just not here," Mr. Voronov stated, speaking of the tragedy. His aunt, Olena Chorna, 43, who lives nearby, described the devastation, saying, "We will bury ten members of his family, eight of them children. His entire world was undone." She added, "All I feel is hatred towards the terrorists who launched that missile and took the lives of my beloved family."
The attack on the Voronov home was part of a broader overnight bombardment across Ukraine by Russia, which also injured at least 50 other people. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the incident, calling it a "horrific crime" and stating that "The Russians destroyed an ordinary home of an ordinary family."
