Russian Beauty Queen Reinvents Herself in London After Royal Marriage Scandal

Seven years after a tumultuous royal marriage and abdication scandal, Oxana Gorbatenko, a former Miss Moscow, has established a new life in London as a businesswoman in luxury real estate. Her social media now showcases a glamorous global lifestyle, a stark contrast to the public scrutiny that once surrounded her.

Gorbatenko, 34, frequently shares images of her travels to exclusive destinations such as St. Moritz, Mykonos, Ibiza, St. Tropez, and the Maldives. Her online presence also features her pursuing activities like skiing in designer attire and enjoying lavish experiences in Dubai, including fine dining and yacht trips. She has also attended events like Royal Ascot in London, posting about the experience.

Her recent activities also suggest a focus on education, with a post indicating she may have graduated from Imperial College London this year. However, a notable absence from her current social media is her young son, Leon, born in May 2019.

Ms Gorbatenko's past relationship with the Sultan Muhammad V of Malaysia began in 2018. She converted to Islam to marry him, adopting the name Rihana Oxana Gorbatenko, later Rihana Petra. Their marriage lasted only a year before Muhammad V abdicated the throne in January 2019, an event that coincided with rumors surrounding their relationship.

Following the birth of their son Leon in May 2019, the couple divorced. Muhammad V's lawyer stated there was a lack of evidence to confirm paternity, a claim Gorbatenko has consistently denied, asserting Leon is his son. Initially, she shared numerous photos of Leon on social media, documenting his growth. However, over time, these posts began to disappear, reportedly due to pressure from the royal family.

The changes to the model's social media became particularly noticeable around a year ago

Her online presence has since shifted significantly, moving away from personal family content to focus on travel, business, and social events. While her previous posts centered on her marriage and son's early life, her current feed reflects her reinvented persona.

Reports suggest that Leon, now seven, may be spending time with his father. Muhammad V has reportedly been seen in London, and according to Russian media, has acknowledged his son and is involved in his upbringing, despite the earlier paternity dispute.
