At least four people were killed and 15 others wounded in Russian ballistic missile strikes on Ukraine's capital early Saturday, according to local officials. Among the wounded were two boys aged 13 and 17.
The Kyiv City Military Administration confirmed the four fatalities. The attack involved more than 10 explosions in the capital, with fires breaking out across the city and reports of power outages in some areas. A residential building in Shevchenkivskyi was partially destroyed, trapping individuals inside, and a warehouse in the Darnytskyi district caught fire.
This latest barrage follows a recent escalation in deadly ballistic missile attacks by Russia on Kyiv. President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized the urgent need for interceptor missiles to counter these threats.
The strikes occurred two days after a suspected Russian cruise missile landed in Poland during a wider assault on Ukraine that resulted in at least eight deaths. Among those casualties were six members of one family in a village near Kryvyih Rih.
