At least eight people, including three children, died in a Russian missile and drone assault that struck across Ukraine, officials reported.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia deployed more than 70 missiles and over 280 drones against the nation overnight. The most severe attack occurred near Kryvyi Rih, Zelensky's hometown.

According to Zelensky, numerous civilian homes, businesses, and infrastructure facilities sustained damage or were destroyed in the barrage. In the capital, Kyiv, residents sought refuge in underground subway stations.

Oleksiy Sorokin, Deputy Chief Editor for Kyiv Independent, told BBC News that individuals were trapped beneath rubble, and the casualty count was expected to rise.
