Russia Strikes Kyiv With Ballistic Missiles, Killing Two

Russia launched ballistic missiles at Ukraine's capital overnight Wednesday, killing two people and damaging civilian infrastructure, according to Ukrainian officials. Explosions were heard across central Kyiv around 3 a.m.
A rocket struck a nonresidential building in the Podilskyi district, igniting a fire, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported. In the Darnytskyi district, another rocket strike caused a fire at a garage complex, which was extinguished but sustained damage. Debris from the attack was also found in an open area nearby.
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that the broader Kyiv region experienced a combined attack involving drones and ballistic missiles. In the Obukhiv district, three production and storage facilities were damaged, and fires that broke out were contained. A truck and trailer were also damaged.
Officials confirmed two fatalities from the attack in Kyiv but did not immediately release further details about the victims.
