Russia launched a "massive" aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying hundreds of drones over a period that left the country's skies unclear for most of Wednesday and into Thursday morning, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy stated that the drone attacks occurred between midnight and 9 a.m. local time on Thursday. He characterized the escalation as a deliberate act by Russia, occurring after the nation received sanctions relief and as Ukraine faced pressure.
