Russell Brand Told Accuser She Was 'Treated Like an Animal,' Court Hears

A woman who has accused comedian Russell Brand of rape told him he had "treated her like an animal," a court heard Wednesday. The allegation was presented during recorded police interviews played at Southwark Crown Court in London, where Brand is on trial.

The complainant claims that in 2009, she did not consent to anal sex with Brand at his home. According to the recorded interview, six months after the alleged incident, she received an unsolicited text message from Brand expressing a desire to "push her further." When she questioned his message, Brand reportedly responded, "Because you're dirty and I want to push you further."

The woman stated she was upset by his reply and eventually responded, "I think you've pushed me far enough, you treated me like an animal." Brand's immediate reply, she recounted, was, "I'm sorry."

The woman testified that she first met Brand in 2009 at one of his comedy shows at Hammersmith Apollo. Despite having a boyfriend at the time, she went to his dressing room and performed a sex act on him. Their subsequent meeting at his house, she claims, is when non-consensual sex occurred, stating she had only agreed to vaginal sex.

During the police interview, she detailed that Brand made her shower and brush her teeth before they engaged in sexual activity. When asked by the detective if there was any conversation about anal sex, she explicitly stated, "No."

Russell Brand, 51, faces three charges of rape, three charges of sexual assault, and one charge of indecent assault. The allegations span a decade, from 1999 to 2009, and involve six female complainants. Brand has maintained his innocence, stating he has never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity.

The trial is ongoing.
