Russell Brand Accuser Says Alleged Rape "Really Hurt"
A friend of a woman accusing Russell Brand of rape testified in court that the complainant said the alleged attack caused significant pain.
A friend of a woman who claims Russell Brand raped her testified in court on Wednesday that the complainant said the alleged attack "really, really hurt." The witness, speaking via video link at Brand's trial, told the jury that she attended a comedy show with the accuser at London's Hammersmith Apollo theatre in 2009. The accuser was invited to Brand's dressing room after the show, and subsequently visited his home in Hampstead, London, the witness said.
Brand, 51, has pleaded not guilty to all seven charges against him: three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault. The allegations span a decade, from 1999 to 2009, and involve six female complainants.
The witness recalled that Brand had sent a car to pick up the accuser and take her to his residence. When they spoke about the incident "quite soon after," the accuser was crying and "really upset," according to the witness. The accuser reportedly told her friend that Brand had been "quite aggressive" and stated, "He forcibly put it in my bum and 'it really really hurt'." The witness also stated she specifically asked the complainant if she had said no to Brand when the alleged assault began.
