Rumer Willis has relocated from Idaho to Nashville, Tennessee, approximately two months after a court awarded her primary physical custody of her daughter, Louetta.

Willis, 37, shared the news of her move on Instagram, describing it as a "leap of faith." The announcement included a video of moving employees assisting her with packing items from her home.

"New chapter, officially delivered," Willis wrote in the caption. She previously resided in Los Angeles for 14 years before moving to Idaho. In a separate Instagram post, she described her departure from Los Angeles, stating, "I’ve been ready for a new adventure and a new place for years, but for reasons only the universe knows, this house wasn’t ready to be done with me." She continued, "Now, it feels like the house is finally ready to let me go. So, with the deepest love and gratitude, Lou and I say goodbye to Casablanca and LA and set off for a new adventure."

The move follows a period of legal proceedings with her ex-partner, Derek Richard Thomas, 40. In June, Willis was awarded primary physical custody of their 3-year-old daughter. The ruling came after Willis accused Thomas of "incessant domestic violence." Her mother, Demi Moore, supported these claims, describing Thomas's behavior as "aggressive."

Thomas has denied the allegations, stating he has never acted "aggressively or inappropriately." He accused Willis of exposing their daughter to "adult sexual humor" content without his consent. Thomas also alleged that Willis had intended to remain in Idaho permanently after relocating there with their daughter during the January 2025 wildfires.

Court documents from June also stipulated that Willis and Thomas would share joint legal custody. Both parents were ordered to undergo a custody evaluation and participate in co-parenting counseling. Communication between them was to be facilitated through a co-parenting application.

Thomas was granted visitation rights every other weekend, with initial visits to be supervised by a nanny before transitioning to unsupervised overnight stays. The couple began dating in 2022, and their daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis, was born on April 18, 2023. Willis confirmed their breakup on social media in August 2024.
