Ruby Tuesday Matthews Tears Up Over Best Friend's Death, Rips Facelift Stitches

Influencer Ruby Tuesday Matthews recently shared her emotional distress on Instagram, revealing she had ripped her facelift stitches while crying over the death of her best friend and amidst other significant life changes. Matthews, 33, underwent an endoscopic facelift in Seoul last month and has been documenting her recovery process.

In a tearful video shared with her followers, Matthews stated, "I've obviously re-ripped my stitches." The incident occurred during an emotional period marked by the death of her close friend, Byron Bay property developer Myles Trainor, 41, who passed away in June. Trainor, who was the godfather to Matthews' daughter Holiday, left behind two young sons.

Matthews also disclosed that she experienced a failed dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure, followed by emergency surgery. She described the combined impact of these events, stating, "Just been through some of the biggest changes as of late, losing my best friend, which I think has just really hit me, having a D&C that failed and then having to have an emergency surgery which hormonally has f**ked me."

The influencer further elaborated on feeling overwhelmed by mounting pressures, including demanding work deadlines, the challenges of motherhood, and navigating her neurodiversity and ADHD. "Working with the most insane deadlines. I'm struggling so much in motherhood and navigating my children," she said. "And on top of that, being someone who is neurodiverse myself and having ADHD, I've always felt like emotional regulation, extremely hard."

Matthews also cited "financial obligations" and her recent decision to part ways with her management as contributing factors to her stress. She emphasized that her intention in sharing her struggles was not to solicit sympathy but to offer an honest portrayal of life's difficulties.

"There's so many other people who reach the end of their tether," she stated. "And I just wanted to say that, like, I feel you and I'm a normal person too." Matthews, who has been open about her mental health in the past, noted that social media often presents an incomplete picture of people's lives.

She described feeling exhausted by the physical toll of her surgery and her demanding work schedule. "I'm at this weird point, I haven't felt since kind of like having postnatal depression where I'm in such a weird headspace and usually I can get myself out of it," she admitted. "But I'm obviously overseas and I have to go to work an hour and pack my suitcase and keep going."

Matthews reiterated her feeling of being overwhelmed, adding, "I know I have people I can reach out to, but I'm feeling so f**king alone. And I'm feeling it pretty lost." This admission followed her decision to spend approximately $16,000 on a facelift in South Korea, a choice that generated debate online regarding its influence on followers.
