Royal Navy Service Member Charged with Spying

A member of the Royal Navy has been charged with spying for an unnamed foreign country, police announced. Teddy Young, 24, from Bedfordshire, faces multiple offenses under the National Security Act, including engaging in conduct that prepares for the disclosure of protected information between November 2024 and May 2025.

Young was arrested at his home and has been remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday. Commander Helen Flanagan, head of Counter-Terrorism Policing London, described the charges as "very serious" given the suspect is a serving member of the armed forces.

Authorities stated that the charges are not connected to the recent incident at RAF Fairford.
