Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie's financial security is likely to remain unaffected by the controversies surrounding their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, according to royal finance expert Norman Baker.
Baker, author of "And What Do You Do? What the Royal Family Don't Want You to Know," stated that while the sisters' reputations may have been impacted by their parents' connections to Jeffrey Epstein and other figures, their personal finances are robust. He noted that both princesses benefit from trust funds established by Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother, designed to minimize tax liabilities. Additionally, Prince Andrew established a trust fund for them.
Princess Beatrice is married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, described as a multi-millionaire, and they reside in a six-bedroom farmhouse in the Cotswolds valued at £3.5 million. As non-working royals, Beatrice and her husband also have access to a rent-free two-bedroom apartment in St. James's Palace.
Princess Eugenie is married to Jack Brooksbank, also described as a multi-millionaire. The couple has a home in Portugal and can also reside rent-free in Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace.
Baker highlighted that the princesses' financial standing is secured by circumstances well beyond those of typical individuals. However, he also raised questions about their business dealings and past associations. He noted that Prince Andrew reportedly introduced them to individuals like Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Harvey Weinstein when they were younger. Gifts received for significant birthdays included an £18,000 diamond necklace from Tarek Kaituni, a convicted Libyan gunrunner and associate of Prince Andrew, and significant financial contributions for events like Eugenie's wedding from Turkish businessman Selman Turk.
Princess Beatrice has founded a company, BY-EQ, which reported approximately £500,000 in earnings in 2024. The company is described as having a single director, a minimal online presence, and no employees. Princess Eugenie works as a director at the Hauser and Wirth art gallery in Mayfair, where Baker observed she took a considerable amount of holiday time in her initial weeks.
Despite these financial arrangements and business ventures, the princesses have continued to be seen in public. Recent activities include Princess Beatrice attending a birthday party in Rome and both sisters attending the wedding of Peter Phillips with their respective husbands.
