Royal editor Rebecca English recounted a "terrifying" incident in 2024 where King Charles and Queen Camilla were rushed away from an engagement in Jersey by police. The evacuation occurred after an officer observed an individual on a nearby building's roof who appeared to be holding a rifle.
English detailed the event, including Queen Camilla's reaction to the scare, in an exclusive Q&A for the Palace Confidential newsletter. The incident served as a stark reminder of the daily dangers faced by the King and Queen.
English, who has attended numerous royal engagements, highlighted this particular event as one that underscores the potential risks associated with the royal couple's public duties.
