Roxy Horner Debuts Fashion Week Looks While Discussing Diabetes Management
The model showcased multiple outfits at London Fashion Week and spoke about her experience managing Type 1 diabetes, highlighting the support from her husband, Jack Whitehall.
Model Roxy Horner made a series of fashion statements at London Fashion Week on Saturday, stepping out in multiple ensembles while also sharing details about her journey managing Type 1 diabetes.
Horner, 35, first appeared at the Susan Fangs show in a bralette and white coat, paired with black leather shorts and zebra-print heels, accessorized with a Chanel clutch. She later changed into a cream high-neck top and chocolate leather miniskirt with a statement jacket, followed by a vibrant red co-ord set.
During her Fashion Week activities, Horner was accompanied by her three-year-old daughter, Elsie, whom she shares with partner Jack Whitehall. The mother and daughter duo were later seen enjoying lunch in Notting Hill with their dog, Coco.
Horner, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes five years ago, spoke about the challenges and the support she has received. She revealed that initially, she feared becoming a 'burden' to Whitehall as she navigated the condition. However, she stated that the experience ultimately brought them closer.
"He was so amazing, he really was. He was there by my side the whole time," Horner said. She described instances where Whitehall would assist her with managing low blood sugar levels, such as retrieving snacks for her.
Horner recounted experiencing symptoms like extreme thirst, fatigue, and an inability to get out of bed, which led her to seek medical attention. After being admitted to the hospital, a blood test confirmed her high glucose levels. She described feeling a sense of relief upon receiving the diagnosis, as it validated her symptoms and provided a path forward for treatment.
London Fashion Week is scheduled to continue until September 21, with the Burberry show slated as the concluding event.
