Rowan Henchy, daughter of actress Brooke Shields and producer Chris Henchy, is making her reality television debut on Bravo's 'Next Gen NYC.' Henchy, a native New Yorker, found the transition into the show's dynamics to be a learning process, emphasizing the importance of sensitivity to existing relationships within the friend group.
Initially, Henchy's mother, Brooke Shields, expressed hesitation about her daughter joining reality television. Shields was concerned that Henchy, who had less experience with cameras compared to some cast members who had been in the public eye since childhood, might be overwhelmed. However, she ultimately advised caution against unnecessary drama. Henchy noted that her mother was glad she stayed true to herself and found genuine friendships on the show.
Henchy formed a close bond with castmate Ariana Biermann, describing her as her first friend on the show and instrumental in her integration into the group. She expressed concern over the pressure Biermann, at 24 and navigating her first significant breakup, faces regarding romantic relationships and life decisions. Henchy stated, "I think people put a lot of pressure on her to maybe have it all figured out. But she is 24, living alone, and dealing with her first big breakup."
Henchy also defended castmate Kendall White against critical comments made by Charlie in confessionals, calling White a valuable friend and suggesting she should return for another season. Henchy shared that she and White, along with Liam Obergfoll, leaned on each other as newcomers during the season.
Regarding her parents, Henchy maintains open communication with both for advice. She turns to her mother for personal guidance due to her deep understanding of her thought processes, while her father provides career advice, though she acknowledges generational differences in their approaches.
The show also featured appearances from Henchy's parents. She mentioned that her mother and fellow castmate Meredith Marks might bond, and that Shields has met Teresa Giudice. Henchy also shared an anecdote about a secret Santa gift from Charlie, a sweatshirt that read "My mom is the hot one," which she embraced, acknowledging her mother's attractiveness.
Looking ahead, Henchy revealed that she has completed a screenplay with writing partners and is actively seeking to get the project, a comedy about college students, produced. She expressed optimism about its potential and her vision for the film.
