Comedian Rosie O'Donnell said she feels she is experiencing a career resurgence, jokingly attributing the phenomenon to President Donald Trump's public commentary about her. O'Donnell, who recently concluded a limited off-Broadway run and is scheduled to guest host “Jimmy Kimmel Live” starting Aug. 17, described herself as "re-famous" in a recent interview.
"I think it’s Mango Mussolini," O'Donnell told host Amy Poehler on the podcast "Good Hang," referring to Trump. "I think it’s him who did it. He didn’t know. If he knew how much he was helping my career and my life, he would shut up about me because, you know, he’s a horrible creature."
The recent public exchange between O'Donnell and Trump intensified after O'Donnell made comments about the president's health and fitness for office. "And the fact that he’s falling asleep, that he’s very physically ill, that he doesn’t look like he’s long for this earth, that he shouldn’t be the man in control of the nuclear code," O'Donnell said in a previous interview. "Like, these are things that everyone around him knows."
Trump responded to O'Donnell's remarks by posting an AI-generated image depicting him as a doctor diagnosing her with "Trump Derangement Syndrome." This exchange is the latest in a long-standing public feud between the two figures.
