Rosie O'Donnell is contemplating a move back to New York from her residence in Dublin, spurred by the Democratic victories in the recent midterm elections. O'Donnell, who relocated to Ireland following the 2024 presidential election, told The Washington Post that while she enjoys life in Dublin, her family remains in the United States.
"We love it here, but my family’s not here," O'Donnell stated. "And I miss my grown kids. I miss my grandson that was born six months ago. And I feel like I’ve missed half his life already and don’t want to miss any more."
O'Donnell has five children from previous relationships. She celebrated the midterm election results, which saw Democrats gain control of the House and expand their majority in the Senate, on TikTok. She described the outcome as a "blue wave" and a clear message to the Trump administration.
"It’s a beautiful morning in the world. The Trump regime is over, thank you America," O'Donnell said in a video. "I knew we would do it; I knew it in my heart."
She expressed pride in the American people for showing up and delivering a strong message against what she described as "unconstitutional, un-American things that this administration has perpetrated."
O'Donnell also shared her emotional reaction to the election results, stating she cried upon waking up to the news. She mentioned wearing a blue sweater to signify her support for the outcome. The comedian has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump for years, dating back to a 2006 appearance on "The View."
In response to the news, the White House issued a statement to Fox News Digital calling O'Donnell "a nasty woman and a total slob whose brain has been completely destroyed by Trump Derangement Syndrome."
