Roosters Secure NRLW Grand Final Victory in Dominant Performance

The Sydney Roosters have clinched the NRLW Grand Final title with a resounding 30-6 victory over the Brisbane Broncos, delivering a dominant performance that avenged their loss in the previous year's decider. The win also provided a perfect send-off for retiring Roosters legends Corban Baxter and Millie Elliott.

Halves Jocelyn Kelleher and Tarryn Aiken were instrumental in the Roosters' success at Accor Stadium on Sunday. Winger Brydie Parker scored a hat-trick, contributing to the equal largest winning margin in an NRLW Grand Final. The Roosters completed an undefeated 2026 season, securing their third premiership and solidifying their position as the season's top team.

Last year, the Roosters suffered a 22-18 defeat to the Broncos in the grand final, decided by a late, controversial try. This year's match saw no such uncertainty, with the Roosters controlling the game from the outset. The four-time champion Brisbane Broncos, who had never previously lost a decider, struggled throughout the contest, marking a somber end to the decorated club career of retiring player Ali Brigginshaw.

For the Roosters, prop Millie Elliott ends her career with five premierships across three different clubs, joining fullback Corban Baxter, who has two premierships, in retirement. The Roosters established a commanding 26-0 lead by halftime, scoring six tries and setting a new record for the largest halftime advantage in an NRLW decider.

Kelleher, who had expressed self-blame for the decisive try in the previous year's final, was a key figure. Her tactical kicking game consistently troubled the Broncos' backline. Aiken, returning from an ACL injury that saw her miss the 2025 decider, showcased her elite skills, scoring a try and assisting two others in the first half.

The Roosters opened the scoring with an inch-perfect cross-field kick from Kelleher to Parker. Aiken then capitalized on a ricochet from her own short kick to extend the lead to 10-0. A well-executed scrum move involving Kelleher, Baxter, and Aiken led to a try for captain Isabelle Kelly. Following a Broncos' handling error from an Aiken bomb, Jayme Fressard scored. Parker added her second try, assisted by Aiken and Kelly, before prop Amber Hall powered over to complete the first-half onslaught.
