The roommate and alleged romantic partner of the man accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk posted an online message appearing to praise President Joe Biden and maintained accounts on gaming and transgender forums, Daily Mail reporting and court documents show, as investigators probe possible motive in the public killing.
A court affidavit filed in the investigation says the roommate handed over text messages to police that link the suspected shooter, 22‑year‑old Tyler Robinson, to details of the attack, including references to hiding a gun and etching messages on bullets. The affidavit did not name the roommate or accuse that person of any crime and said the individual is cooperating with investigators.
Law enforcement officials and reporting indicate that some of the bullets recovered from the scene carried inscriptions. Authorities have cited messages found on spent rounds that included “Hey fascist! CATCH!” and “Notices bulges, OwO what’s this?”, the latter phrase linked to an online meme often used within furry communities. Investigators are examining whether comments Kirk made about transgender people factored into the shooting, sources told media outlets.
Multiple social media accounts reviewed by news organizations tie the username “Craftin247” to Robinson. That username appears on gaming platforms and a payments app, and a FurAffinity account under the same name was registered on July 22, 2025, roughly two months before the shooting, according to the reporting. FurAffinity is an art and social site used by people who create and share anthropomorphic animal artwork and, in some cases, dress in costume at events.
Reporting also identified the roommate as Lance Twiggs, a 22‑year‑old who has used the name “lancelotte” online and posted in transgender forums. A Reddit account using a variation of that handle posted in a subreddit for landlords a message reading, “We are riding with Biden on this glorious subreddit,” according to the Daily Mail. The account also included posts discussing transition‑related topics, and listings on gaming networks showed changes in the account’s displayed name from “Lance” to “Luna.”
Friends and acquaintances described the suspect as an avid gamer. A Steam account linked to the “Craftin247” handle listed a Utah location, a previous username of “Donald Trump,” more than 2,100 hours of gameplay, and a decade of service on the platform. Court documents and reporting say Robinson’s father and a minister in southern Utah brought him to police after the shooting; Robinson was taken into custody and is charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily harm and obstruction of justice, the affidavit states.
Law enforcement officials searched an apartment in St. George, Utah, that Robinson shared with his roommate as part of the investigation. Authorities said the roommate voluntarily provided texts and other materials to investigators. Axios reported that six sources familiar with the probe described Twiggs as the roommate and said he was cooperatively providing information to police; the roommate has not been accused of wrongdoing.
Charlie Kirk, a conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA, was speaking at an event at Utah Valley University when he was shot. He collapsed after being struck and later died, according to multiple media reports. President Donald Trump said he wants to see the shooter face the death penalty and described Kirk as “the finest person.”
Officials say they are continuing to examine online accounts, messages and other electronic evidence to determine whether the killing was motivated by the suspect’s reaction to Kirk’s views, personal grievances or other factors. The presence of inscriptions on bullets and the ties to gaming and fandom communities have drawn public attention and are part of forensic and digital probes.
Robinson is scheduled to appear in a Utah courtroom on Tuesday. Prosecutors have not publicly detailed a motive beyond the contents of the affidavit, and investigators cautioned against drawing conclusions until their review of digital devices, social media histories and witness interviews is complete.
Family members of the roommate told reporters they did not wish to comment on the individual’s gender identity. A relative said the roommate had been speaking with police; others close to the investigation described him as “aghast” at the shooting and cooperative in providing information. Law enforcement has urged anyone with relevant information to come forward as the case proceeds to court.
