Rookie Julian Hall Scores in Second Straight USMNT Game
18-year-old striker continues impressive start with a goal against Chile, becoming youngest to score in back-to-back senior appearances.
Julian Hall continued his impactful debut with the U.S. Men's National Team, scoring in his second consecutive match to help lead the USMNT to a 4-2 victory over Chile on September 29, 2026. The 18-year-old striker became the 13th player in USMNT history to score in his first two senior international appearances.
Hall, a native of New York City and a player for the Red Bulls, found the back of the net with a header in the 51st minute against Chile. This goal followed his debut performance on Tuesday night in St. Louis, where he made his first start for the national team. His recent scoring streak marks a significant achievement for the young player in his first senior camp.
With his goal against Chile, Hall set a new record as the youngest player in program history to score in consecutive matches. "It's been amazing to share the field with some amazing players and they put me in the right spots. I'm just doing as much as I can to put them away," Hall said in an interview with TNT Sports, reflecting on his early success.
The equalizer against Chile came from a header assisted by Gio Reyna. Hall leaped to redirect Reyna's pass past Chile's goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux. He celebrated with a move he attributed to the FIFA video game series.
Hall's contributions extended beyond his goal. He also played a role in setting up the team's opening goal, scored by Sebastian Berhalter, with a well-executed dummy that created space for his teammate.
Prior to joining the national team camp, Hall was in strong form for the Red Bulls. He scored the lone goal in their recent victory over rival New York City FC. Despite a previous scoring drought, Hall has emerged as one of MLS's top young talents, scoring 10 goals and recording five assists during the regular season under first-year head coach Michael Bradley, a former USMNT standout.
Hall credited Bradley's coaching for his development and that of his Red Bulls teammate, Adri Mehmeti, who is also part of the USMNT camp. "It's been amazing. We had a lot of young guys on our team, including Adri who's here as well, and he's helped us so much in our development," Hall stated. "He's a big reason as to why me and him are here right now. He’s been amazing, he gave us amazing advice before we came down here and he’s been awesome."
