Sir Rod Stewart, the 81-year-old music icon known for hits like "Maggie May," experienced an unexpected retail delay when he became trapped in an elevator at a Prada store. Stewart was shopping with his 20-year-old son, Alastair, and Alastair's girlfriend, Mell Ratto, when the group found themselves stuck.

Despite Stewart's status as a multiplatinum artist with two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions, immediate rescue was not available. The trio reportedly resorted to contacting Prada via Instagram, posting a plea that read, "Can someone help get us out of the elevator?"

Reports suggest the group appeared more bored than distressed during the incident, which occurred last week. This event follows a series of recent minor setbacks for the singer. In June, Stewart required an oxygen tank during a concert in West Valley City, Utah, after nearly fainting on stage. He used the apparatus for the remainder of the performance.

The near-fainting incident came just a week after he canceled a California concert citing health concerns. However, he subsequently flew to Boston via private jet to attend a World Cup match between Scotland and Haiti, a decision that reportedly drew criticism from fans who had purchased tickets for his canceled show.
