Rod Stewart has postponed his August 9 concert at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, citing an "unforeseen but minor medical procedure" that required prompt attention. Organizers confirmed the postponement and stated that rescheduling is underway, with further details to be released. All previously purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date.
Representatives for Stewart indicated that he is expected to recover quickly and looks forward to returning to Cincinnati. The concert was part of the North American leg of his "One Last Time" farewell tour, which began in 2024.
This is not the first health-related concert cancellation for the 81-year-old Scottish rocker this year. In June, Stewart was forced to pull out of a concert in California due to a respiratory infection that led to laryngitis. He also postponed shows in Morrison, Colorado, citing the need for vocal rest. During a concert in Utah the same month, he used an oxygen tank on stage, which was speculated to be related to the high altitude.
Stewart faced backlash in June after attending Scotland's World Cup match against Haiti in Boston less than 24 hours after canceling a California show due to illness. He explained his decision on talkSPORT, stating that he had promised his sons he would take them to a World Cup match and did not want to let them down. He acknowledged that the appearance "wasn't a good look" but stood by his decision to attend for his children.
The "One Last Time" tour is scheduled to include approximately 40 shows this year, with plans to tour the UK next year, including a performance at the O2 arena, which Stewart indicated may be his final major concert engagement.
