Rocket Stickney, a former U.S. Navy SEAL who gained public attention for his relationship with OnlyFans personality Paris Ow-Yang, has died at the age of 30. His death was confirmed by former partners who stated that Stickney had struggled with his mental health, particularly in the aftermath of allegations made against him.
Stickney passed away last week, with tributes to him appearing on his private Instagram account. He had been charged with sexual intercourse without consent following an alleged incident in Sydney in June 2023. Stickney pleaded not guilty, and the charge was withdrawn by the Crown in November 2024, prior to a scheduled trial. Details of the allegation were not publicly disclosed.
While the criminal charge was active, Stickney was under strict bail conditions, including surrendering his U.S. passport and being prohibited from leaving Australia. An interim apprehended violence order was also in place protecting the alleged victim. This order continued separately after the criminal charge was withdrawn, and a police application to make it permanent was also withdrawn in March 2025.
Stickney maintained his innocence throughout the legal proceedings. His former girlfriend, Amira Ross, who dated him for two years prior to his relationship with Ow-Yang, confirmed his death and spoke about his struggles. "Unfortunately, he was such a beautiful soul that felt everything so deeply and his mental health suffered immensely in the aftermath of the allegations made against him," Ross said. She described him as a "gentle and loving man who would do anything for his friends and family."
Stickney and Ow-Yang, then 19, dated in late 2024, first appearing together in December of that year. Stickney was described by Ow-Yang's solicitor as a "stable influence" when she appeared in court in December 2024 over domestic violence charges. Their relationship reportedly ended in February 2025.
His most recent partner, Marguerite Gellart, also shared a tribute, writing that Stickney had desired a simple life with a family. "This was never supposed to be your story, my sweet bunny," Gellart stated. "All you wanted in the world was a normal life, to be a husband and to have a family. You were a little puppy in a world of wolves. Life was not fair to you and you deserved the whole world."
Another friend, Jordan Simi, remembered Stickney as someone who "always looked after others and made sure no one needed for much." Simi added, "As men, we all have silent battles and unfortunately he was going through his."
