Rock Singer Sawyer Hill's Tour Bus Crashes After Driver Dies of Medical Emergency
Four people were injured when the bus ran off the road and flipped near the Colorado-Wyoming border.

A tour bus carrying rock singer Sawyer Hill and his bandmates veered off a road and overturned near the Colorado-Wyoming border last Wednesday after the driver died from a sudden medical emergency, the singer reported.
David Jackson, 50, was identified as the driver who suffered the fatal incident while behind the wheel of a 2024 Freightliner M2. The crash resulted in injuries to four other individuals.
According to a fundraiser organized by his daughter-in-law, Danni Wong, Jackson had been living with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and epilepsy, conditions that were not previously known to his family. An autopsy confirmed that Jackson died prior to the bus leaving the roadway. His family stated in an obituary that he died doing “what he loved, driving a tour bus.”
Hill, 27, described the event as a “terrifying experience” on Instagram. The singer has postponed the remaining dates of his North American “Everybody’s Home, Nobody’s Happy” tour to allow his band and crew to focus on healing and processing the incident. Hill is scheduled to tour in Europe and Australia next year.
In a social media post on Oct. 5, Hill reflected on the demanding nature of tour life, writing, “This job isn’t for the faint of heart. We are a unique breed of people. We’ve been through a lot, and we do a lot in a single day to make a concert happen. The sacrifices we make to do this job are things most people will never truly understand. But when you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like a job.” He added, “There is, however, a certain level of insanity that comes with this life. That insanity is part of what makes us who we are.”
