Robert Kelker-Kelly Died at 62 After Experiencing Chest Pain, Police Report Details

Robert Kelker-Kelly, best known for his role as Bo Brady on the soap opera "Days of Our Lives," died at the age of 62 after experiencing chest and arm pain, according to a police report.

Kelker-Kelly's wife, Allison Kelly, told police she picked him up from Spirit of St. Louis Airport on Oct. 3 around 7:30 p.m. During the drive home, the actor reported pain in his left arm and chest and asked his wife to pull over so he could vomit, the St. Peters Police Department report stated.

Upon arriving at their Missouri home, Kelker-Kelly changed his clothes and went to bed. He continued to experience pain and asked his wife for an aspirin. When she returned from the kitchen, she found him unresponsive and not breathing.

Allison Kelly called 911 and began CPR. First responders, including St. Peters police and the St. Charles County Ambulance District, arrived at the home shortly after 8 p.m. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but Kelker-Kelly was pronounced dead at 9:09 p.m.

According to the report, Kelker-Kelly had no known medical conditions and was not taking any prescription medications. His wife also stated he had not sustained any serious injuries or undergone surgery in the preceding year.

Police found no suspicious circumstances at the scene, noting that Kelker-Kelly had reportedly complained of chest pain before becoming unresponsive, and the situation appeared consistent with a medical event. The St. Charles County medical examiner released Kelker-Kelly without an official cause of death specified in the report.

Born April 18, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas, Kelker-Kelly had a career spanning several television series. He began his acting career playing Sam Fowler on "Another World" in 1987. He then took over the role of Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives" in 1992, departing the NBC drama in 1995. He won a Soap Opera Digest Award in 1994 for outstanding lead actor. Later, Kelker-Kelly portrayed the character Stavros Cassadine on "General Hospital" from 2001 to 2003, with returns in 2013 and 2014.
