Robert Irwin has made a habit of appearing on concert stages, most recently joining American singer Alex Warren on stage in Brisbane. Warren, 25, called Irwin, 22, to join him during his performance at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
During Warren's song "Fever Dream," Irwin activated a large red button that released confetti into the air. The moment was captured and shared on TikTok, where it garnered positive reactions from fans who praised the "crossover" and the "genuine" nature of both individuals.
This recent appearance contrasts with Irwin's experience hosting the Logie Awards the previous week. As the youngest person ever to host the event, Irwin's performance was met with criticism after he joined the DJ set of Adam Hyde, of the band Peking Duk, and engaged in breakdancing. Online commentary described the routine as "cringe" and urged him to stop, with some viewers expressing discomfort.
Irwin's hosting duties also included a monologue that was perceived as "lacklustre" by some. He also incorporated a joke about television personality Karl Stefanovic's perceived shift in political leanings. Later in the ceremony, Irwin removed his suit jacket to reveal his zookeeper uniform and brought live animals, including a lizard and snakes, to show to audience members and celebrities. Despite the mixed reception to his hosting, Irwin received the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.
