Rob Reiner's Sister-in-Law Speaks Out Nine Months After Couple's Murders

Martine Singer, sister-in-law to filmmaker Rob Reiner, has broken her silence regarding the profound impact of the murders of her sister Michele and brother-in-law Rob nine months ago.

"Our lives are changed forever," Singer told "Extra" in an interview. "I suppose you heal from a wound, but the scar is there. It’s a really hard thing to describe because it never goes away."

Singer is also providing support to Michele and Rob's children, Jake and Romy, who are coping with the loss of their parents. Their brother, Nick Reiner, is accused of committing the murders and is currently awaiting trial.

"Everybody in the family is healing in his or her own way," Singer explained. "I’ll never be my sister and I can never be what’s missing in their lives, but I consider them my kids. There’s no daylight between us."

Recalling her sister and the filmmaker, Singer described their relationship as an "incredible" love story that began shortly after they met. She remembered them as "the most caring, generous, brilliant people," who "did a lot to try to heal the world."

Rob and Michele Reiner were fatally stabbed in their Los Angeles home in the Brentwood neighborhood in December 2025. The legal proceedings for Nick Reiner are ongoing.
