Rob Lowe's son, Matthew Lowe, married Emily Markus on Saturday in Santa Barbara, California. The wedding took place shortly after the family's bereavement over the death of Rob Lowe's niece, Fiona, who passed away at age 13.

The ceremony drew a notable guest list, including celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Katy Perry, Chris Pratt, and Zoe Saldaña. Gwyneth Paltrow officiated the wedding.

Matthew Lowe, 33, is the elder son of Rob Lowe and his wife of 35 years, Sheryl Berkoff. The couple also has another son, John Lowe, 30.

Preceding the wedding festivities, Markus shared a glimpse of the preparations on her Instagram Stories, posting a sunset photo from the Bluewater Grill with the caption, "It's wedding weekend eve!"

The wedding occurred less than two weeks after Fiona Lowe, the daughter of Rob Lowe's brother Chad Lowe, died. Her family released a statement mourning her loss, describing her as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance." They added, "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."

Fiona was pronounced dead at a hospital on September 29. Official records later confirmed her cause of death as suicide. Chad Lowe and his wife, producer Kim Painter, also have two daughters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.

The community offered support to the Lowe family following Fiona's death, with tributes appearing on social media. Matthew's brother, John Owen Lowe, shared a passage from an Emily Dickinson poem on Instagram, reflecting on hope and resilience.

Chad Lowe returned to social media on Thursday, sharing a repost from an "On Healing" podcast episode that discussed connection and transcendental experiences, quoting speaker Gerry Hussey who stated, "We are connected to everything that is, it just makes sense and there’s nothing there but peace in love."
