Rob Lowe's Son Honors Late Cousin Fiona with Poem

John Owen Lowe, son of actor Rob Lowe, shared a poignant message of hope following the death of his 13-year-old cousin, Fiona.

Over the weekend, John Owen posted Emily Dickinson's poem "Hope Is the Thing With Feathers" to his Instagram Stories. The poem reads:

“HOPE is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all…”

Fiona, the daughter of actor Chad Lowe and his wife Kim Painter, died by suicide on September 29. The family confirmed her passing, stating, "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance."

Her family described her as "the light of our lives" and asked for prayers and privacy during their grieving. They also encouraged those struggling with mental health to reach out to the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Fiona was the middle child of Chad Lowe and Kim Painter, who also have daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.

Fiona's older sister, Mabel, also shared a tribute on social media, writing, “I love you so much fiona ❤️ i wish your short time here was easier and i hope your mind is at ease now. I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, i hope you knew just how much.”
