Rob Lowe Names Nastassja Kinski His Best On-Screen Kiss
The actor recalled being intimidated by the actress during their 1984 film collaboration.
Rob Lowe has identified Nastassja Kinski as the recipient of his best on-screen kiss. The actor revealed his choice during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live" on Sunday, naming Kinski, his co-star in the 1984 film "The Hotel New Hampshire."
When host Andy Cohen presented Lowe with a list of his notable on-screen kisses, including those with Demi Moore, Rashida Jones, and Kim Cattrall, Lowe immediately chose Kinski. He explained his decision by stating, "Have a look at her," and added that at the time, she was "probably the most beautiful woman I’d certainly ever seen."
Lowe also admitted to feeling intimidated during the kissing scene. "I was, like, very, very scared," he recalled.
"The Hotel New Hampshire," a comedy-drama directed by Tony Richardson, is based on John Irving's 1981 novel of the same title. In the film, Lowe and Kinski, who were 20 and 21 respectively at the time of filming, shared intimate scenes.
Lowe has been married to makeup artist and jewelry designer Sheryl Berkoff since 1991. The couple shares two sons, Matthew and John Owen. He has previously spoken about meeting Berkoff on the set of his 1990 film "Bad Influence," noting his desire to build a stable future with her, which led him to seek sobriety.
In a separate interview segment on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” Lowe recently discussed his infamous 1989 Oscar opening monologue, calling it "the worst opening ever." He humorously remarked that he was the only person happy when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, as he hoped it would eclipse his own Oscar hosting moment in infamy.
