Ned Donovan, the grandson of author Roald Dahl, has married American TikToker Megan Tomlin, following his divorce from Princess Raiyah of Jordan. The wedding to Tomlin took place last week at St Margaret's Church in Babington, Somerset.
Donovan, 32, who transitioned from journalism to become a police officer in the U.S., met Tomlin in her native country. The couple is now residing in Charleston, South Carolina.
His previous marriage to Princess Raiyah, the youngest daughter of the late King Hussein and Queen Noor of Jordan, took place in 2020 during a COVID-19 lockdown. Friends have expressed happiness for Donovan, noting he has experienced a difficult period. The year after his wedding to the princess, Donovan's father, Patrick Donovan, died after a battle with cancer.
In 2024, Donovan was injured in London after apprehending a pickpocket near the Palace of Westminster. He reported that while he stopped the theft, he was subsequently attacked by accomplices of the pickpocket. Donovan recounted that bystanders filmed the incident instead of offering assistance. He sustained injuries including a black eye, a bloody nose, neck marks, a scratched eye socket, and cuts from a bite. He expressed gratitude to the Metropolitan Police and the NHS for their support.
Donovan, who served as a Special Constable at the time of the incident, noted the lack of intervention from onlookers. He is now embarking on a new chapter with his wife, Megan Tomlin. Guests at the recent wedding included his half-sister, model and writer Sophie Dahl, and his godfather, Sir Nicholas Coleridge, chairman of The King's Foundation.
