Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) responded Friday to former President Donald Trump's criticism of his media appearances, thanking Trump for the "shoutouts" and promising to discuss his "failure in Iran" on Fox News. Trump had complained during a rally that Fox News was giving Khanna, whom he called a "radical left loser," too much airtime.

"I watch this total dope, Ro Khanna," Trump said during a rally in Daytona, Florida. "Fox puts him on all the time. You know, Fox is giving Democrats more time than they give Republicans. I don’t know what the hell’s… I’m working my ass off, I’m doing rallies — and I come back and I watch the opponent of the person I did the rally for. I’m not happy. But I watched Ro Khanna, of course, on Fox this morning. I can’t watch him."

Trump also criticized Khanna's calls for his impeachment, claiming the congressman was upset "because I’ve taken the nuclear weapon from Iran."

Khanna countered via X (formerly Twitter), "Thanks for the 4 shoutouts today, Mr. President! I’ll be on Fox this Sunday to share more of my thoughts on your failure in Iran and how it’s raised gas and food prices. If you get a break from bragging about oil company profits and playing golf, tune in!"

Khanna had appeared on "Fox & Friends" earlier that day, criticizing the Iran war and suggesting impeachment proceedings. He also recently appeared on Fox News to discuss global wealth inequality in relation to the riots in France.

Trump, who is reportedly facing disastrous approval ratings heading into the midterms amid an affordability crisis, also referred to Khanna as a "lightweight" in response to his criticisms. Khanna, in turn, suggested that the money spent on Trump's war could be used for "jobs and childcare for Americans." He added, "His voters wanted him to stay out of war. He lied. Result: Blue Tsunami Tuesday."
