RJ Mitte's Engagement Strain Reportedly Contributed to His Death

RJ Mitte's relationship with his fiancée, Kennedy Suarez, reportedly experienced strain after she moved from their Texas home to Georgia for work, a decision that Mitte was unwilling to follow, according to a report.

Suarez relocated to the Atlanta area in December 2025 for a job that was described as remote, but she reportedly did not intend to return to Texas full-time. Mitte, who died by suicide on October 12 at age 34, did not want to move with her, according to TMZ.

A source told the outlet that the couple's relationship had been struggling since August 2025, with Suarez occasionally not wearing her engagement ring due to fears of being robbed. The source indicated that these relationship issues "significantly" contributed to Mitte's emotional decline in the period leading up to his death.

Previous reports had suggested tension between Suarez and Mitte's mother, Dyna, with Suarez allegedly encouraging Mitte to sever ties with his mother and sister. However, Dyna Mitte stated that a friend had told her son something "that he was very hurt over" and speculated that his suicide might have been an impulsive decision.

"We all go through heartbreak in our life and we all deal with it differently," Dyna Mitte said, expressing a wish that she had urged him to seek therapy more forcefully. She described being the one who found her son deceased.

An insider told Page Six that Mitte had seemed happy in Texas and was enthusiastic about his engagement in 2025. "He was such a beautiful, kind person. He seemed so excited and happy when he got engaged. He moved to Texas to start a new opportunity outside of the Hollywood industry," the source said. "He was really optimistic about that and was really hopeful of successes out there. He was busy with what he was doing out there and it seemed to make him happy. This all seems so shocking. He always was smiling and happy in public."

Mitte was widely recognized for his role as Walter "Flynn" White Jr. in the acclaimed television series "Breaking Bad." In his final interview on "The Joe Vulpis Podcast" on October 5, Mitte spoke about his future aspirations, stating his desire to continue auditioning and "living the dream."

"I tell people, you know, every dream could be a nightmare, too … but just keep living it, just keep pushing forward," he said.
