RJ Mitte Honored at Convention Following His Death

RJ Mitte, known for his role as Walter White Jr. in "Breaking Bad," was honored by fans and former co-stars at NTX Universe 2026 in Dallas, Texas, over the weekend. Mitte died by suicide on October 12 at the age of 34. He had been scheduled to appear at the convention prior to his death.

Attendees were invited to leave messages for Mitte and his family in condolence books provided by event organizers. Mitte's manager, Ben Brucato, shared a message on Instagram from the convention, noting that the actor's absence was keenly felt.

"This weekend in Dallas was bittersweet. RJ was supposed to be there with us, and it was hard knowing he wasn’t. His absence was felt throughout the weekend, and things just weren’t the same without him," Brucato wrote.

Brucato was joined by "Breaking Bad" co-stars Giancarlo Esposito, Raymond Cruz, and Daniel Moncada in a photograph featuring an image of Mitte. Brucato thanked the event organizers for their kindness and for establishing the condolence book table.

He also used the platform to emphasize the importance of mental health awareness, stating, "You never really know what someone is going through behind closed doors, so please check on your people, even the ones who seem like they’re doing okay." He encouraged those struggling to contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.

Following his death, co-star Bryan Cranston described himself as being "in deep despair," while Aaron Paul stated, "I am at a loss. I am heartbroken over this news. RJ, I love you my friend. You will be missed."
