RJ Mitte, 'Breaking Bad' Actor and Advocate, Dies at 34
Loved ones and community members express shock and sorrow following the actor's death.
RJ Mitte, an actor best known for his role as Walter "Flynn" White Jr. on AMC's "Breaking Bad," died by suicide on Monday at the age of 34. His passing has left his community and loved ones in a state of shock.
Cameron County Justice of the Peace Judge Cyndi Hinojosa told Page Six that Mitte was a "beloved member of our community" and that his death has been "shocking and heartbreaking." Hinojosa added that Mitte's family has deep roots in the area and that he had become actively involved with local residents and the arts community in recent years. "He meant so much to this community, and his loss will be deeply felt," she said.
Mitte died in Texas, where a Justice of the Peace can function as a medical examiner in counties without a dedicated office. An autopsy is being performed by Dr. Elizabeth Miller to confirm the manner of death.
According to a representative, Mitte was a passionate disability rights advocate, drawing from his own experience living with cerebral palsy. He was recognized for bringing authenticity to his role on "Breaking Bad" and used his platform to raise awareness and promote inclusion for people with disabilities. He served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s and was president of The Mitte Foundation, which supported philanthropic efforts and community initiatives.

The statement concluded by asking for privacy for Mitte's family and loved ones during this difficult time.
